Teacher - Vinyasa, Yoga Tune-Up
I started on the path of yoga while studying my undergraduate work at SUNY Cortland, where I received my Bachelors of Science and Education in Physical and Health Education. I was immediately drawn to the many benefits that yoga has to offer. I found my practice served to keep me balanced and focused throughout that stressful period of my life. I love the mind-body connection and the sense of calmness, clarity, and stress relief that comes with linking breath to movement. I am a dedicated student and have found East Meets West to be my home for the past 10 years. In 2012, I completed my 200 hr Prana Flow ® Yoga Teacher Training with world renowned Master Instructor, Shiva Rea. My classes are designed as guided exploration and connection with prana, “the life force”, by combining rhythmic movements, pulsations, and body vinyasas, paired with music to encourage a free form creative flow.
I am enthusiastic about teaching and feel that my education has truly broadened my understanding of the body and alignment and have articulated this into my yoga teaching. In addition to teaching Yoga, I am also a passionate Pilates instructor and the proud owner of OttFit Pilates located within the Village Glen.
