Teacher - Vinyasa
I have always taken an interest in the human body. Whether it was through studying dance and yoga or studying my anatomy books for nursing school, I have always been fascinated by what the body is capable of and what it can achieve. I received my 200 hour yoga teacher certification in 2009, at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, MA, training with Megha-Nancy Buttenheim and Devarshi-Steven Hartman. I am also certified in Trauma Sensitive Yoga through the Trauma Center at JRI in Brookline, MA and have been fortunate enough to work with veterans and domestic abuse survivors. With a background in ballet and fitness, I mix vinyasa flow into my classes, as well as strength building poses and breathing techniques. My yoga teaching embraces the simple truth that the study of yoga is more than a series of poses. Yoga also embodies a lifestyle that coaches us to discover our authentic selves and to stay truthful to who we are.
